Dorchester Board of Trade
Memorial Scholarships in the Memory of Ed Madden / Joe Langis / Ron Schiffman

Announcing the Dorchester Board of Trade Memorial Scholarshipsfor high school seniors
The Dorchester Board of Trade has established three scholarships in the amount of $1,000.00 each which will be awarded to three Dorchester residents enrolled in post high school education for the 2008-2009 academic year.

Originally, the Board awarded one $500 scholarship in the name of Ed Madden, to honor the past president who died in 1996. We have expanded the program to memorialize two other deceased leaders, Joe Langis, our former Executive Secretary, and Ron Schiffman, our former Vice President. All three men were vital to expanding the mission of the Dorchester Board of Trade during their lifetimes.

In tribute to these three men, the Board of Directors has voted to make these scholarships awards in their names. Interested applicants must submit a 300 - 500 word essay on the following topic:

- My favorite Dorchester place/landmark and what it means to me -
Rules and Regulations:
Must be submitted by May 1, 2008

Scholarship Donation Form:
The Dorchester Board of Trade has established three scholarships in the amount of $500.00 each, which will be awarded to three Dorchester residents enrolled in advanced education for the 2008-2009 academic year.

It has become one of the most rewarding projects of the Board. But now, with the increasing cost of education, and the greater demand for financial aid, we need your help to build a larger support system to service our community. It is our hope that with your financial contribution, eventually the Scholarship will be self-supporting.

This year, with your help, the Scholarship Fund can become more successful than ever. Remember, any contribution, large or small, will be greatly appreciated.

Please take a moment now to fill out the Dorchester Board of Trade's "Scholarship Donation Form".
