President's Corner: Letter from William J. Puddister

Dear Business Owner and DBoT Member,

On April 29, 2008 the Dorchester Board of Trade will host an event that we are calling Dorchester 20/20. We have designed this event to be a business community presentation of five major projects that will have long lasting impacts on Dorchester.

The following organizations will be making presentations:

  • Boston Redevelopment Authority, Dorchester Avenue Reconstruction Project
  • Boston Redevelopment Authority, Columbia Point Master Plan
  • UMass Boston, Twenty Five Year Plan
  • Mass Bay Transit Authority, Fairmont Line Plan
  • Archdiocese of Boston, 2010 Plan for Catholic Schools

The event is designed to be a forward looking opportunity to update and inform the Dorchester business community of these major projects. Each presenter will make a five to ten minute presentation. The presenters will also man tables with additional information and displays, and will be available for one on one conversation's.

This will be a significant opportunity for business owners and managers to assess future growth possibilities and challenges.

The event will be held at Florian Hall, 55 Hallet Street, Dorchester from 6:00 PM until 8:00 P.M.. Greg Wayland news reporter for New England Cable News and OFD will be the moderator.

We encourage all members of the Dorchester business community to join us for this educational and networking opportunity. The event is free for Dorchester Board of Trade members. Non-members are asked to pay Ten Dollars.

Sincerely,

William J. Puddister
President
